Yllka Gashi (born August 30, 1982) is a Kosovar- Albanian
actress who works in Theatre, TV and Film. She is widely
regarded as one of the most talented and well known actresses of
her generation in Kosovo.
Yllka made her first stage debut at the age of 17 as Ophelia in
1999’s “Hamlet” directed by English theatre director David
Gothard.
In 2004 she graduated in “Drama and Acting” at the University of
Prishtina. Also in 2004 in the International Theatre Festival
“Setkani/Encounter” that took place in Brno/ Czech Republic,
Yllka was awarded the first prize of jury “ Best Actress- Marta
2004” .
She became famous playin the role of Zana in TV series “Familja
Moderne” produced by Radio Television of Kosovo, for 8 seasons.
Yllka played in many short films and performed in different
theatre productions showing her talent and dedication to acting.
She is the only kosovar actress that played in more than 10 TV
commercials for big companies such as IPKO, Dukagjini,
Raiffeisen Bank etc.
Yllka has been a local Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF Kosovo
since 2006.
